![]() Skating away in Lake PlacidSkating and Holiday StrollingFriday night holiday strollers will be skating away at the Olympic Center's 1932 rink from 6:30-8:30. The Skating Club of Lake Placid will showcase their skating talent with a brief presentation before the skate begins. Rentals will be available! Saturday is the busiest day of the weekend; a farmer's market at Lake Placid Center for the Arts will take place from 10 am until 2 pm. From noon until 1 pm, Santa will arrive at Mids park in downtown Lake Placid to greet strollers, and at 1 pm until 2:30 pm, children can stop at the High Peaks Resort to create holiday crafts. Also from noon until 2:30 pm, strollers can stop at restaurants on Main Street for "tastings" of each unique cuisine. To wrap up the day, Santa will once again be present at Mids Park at 5 pm for the Holiday Tree Lighting, featuring the Lake Placid High School chorus. In the mood for a holiday movie? On 11 am on Sunday, there will be a free showing of "Elf" starring Will Ferrell at the Palace Theatre on Main Street. The fun won't stop this weekend; hopefully next week the oval will be opening just in time for the holidays! -Christie P.S.- A big THANK YOU for those of you who voted for me in the Microsoft Winter Games Blogging Contest!
