Skylight and Gray

March 10, 2014 - Morgan Ryan
My friend Paul and I hiked from Adirondack Loj to Skylight and Gray mountains on Feb. 24. It was a long trip but we were able to cover the roughly 18.5 miles in about nine hours.

This is a marshy area not long after the Lake Arnold pass.

The wind was extremely strong and very cold on top of Skylight's cairn.

Unfortunately, the battery in my camera was dead by the time we got to Gray. I bet the cold wind on Skylight took a lot out of it.

We hit Gray on the way out. The herd path was easy to spot on the northeast shore of Lake Tear of the Clouds. The climb to the top of the ridge went pretty smoothly.

We were back in our cars by 4:30 p.m.
