National and International competitor Ross Miner Starring in July 2 Saturday Night Ice Show

June 30, 2016 - Christie Sausa
Every season, the Olympic Center hosts the Saturday Night Ice Shows, a series of exhibitions which allow skaters training in Lake Placid the opportunity to perform under spotlights in the famous 1932 rink . Each show features a special guest skater, a skater of National or International renown who (often) has direct or indirect ties to Lake Placid’s figure skating history. Almost all of them had at one point trained, competed, or performed in Lake Placid, so they often report feeling a sense of “coming home” when performing in the shows.

The first show of the season stars Ross Miner. Originally from Vermont, the 2013 National Silver Medalist frequently trained and performed in Lake Placid. He has been starring in Saturday Night Ice Shows for the past several years, and has been competing as a Senior on the National Level since 2010/11. He has consistently placed in the top 10 at the National Championships since that season, including two bronze medal placements and the aforementioned second place finish.

I will be interviewing Ross this weekend, and will be asking for his thoughts about last season, his music choices for the long and short program, his plans for the coming season, and more!
