Vote for Chris Mazdzer!

March 7, 2018 - Christie Sausa
The Olympics have come and gone, and many local athletes represented the North Country proudly in their respective sports. Now, one of these local athletes, Chris Mazdzer, is up for the Team USA award 'Male Athlete of the Olympic Games', and he needs your vote to win!

Funny story: when I was a toddler, the first sport that really captivated me was luge. I would shout "luge!" whenever the sport was on television; apparently, I thought it would be the best type of extreme sledding. Then I found figure skating, and my focus quickly shifted to that, but I still have a soft spot for the sliding sport and have tremendous respect for these dynamic athletes.

I realize from my time in Lake Placid how much time, energy, and sacrifice goes into competing in the Olympics, and greatly admire Mazdzer's resume as an athlete. The Lake Placid National Sports Academy alum has won 10 individual World Cup medals, 7 National championships, and has competed previously in the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games. Of course, he is best known for earning a silver medal in the 2018 Olympics a few weeks ago.

Show your support for Mazdzer and the Lake Placid region by voting to help him become the 'Male Athlete of the Olympic Games'!

You can vote on the attached link, the voting continues until March 11th!
