David F. LaBarge

    KEENE — David F. LaBarge, 61, passed away suddenly Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 after a battle with pneumonia at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake with his loving wife Linda at his side.

    He was the son of Gerald and Margaret (Lynch) LaBarge, born in Syracuse, Aug. 8, 1948.

    David grew up in the town on Manlius, and was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse and was a graduate of Clarkson University, Class of 1974.

    David began his career working for Syracuse Crane and Rigging and was stationed in Virginia Beach. He later moved back to upstate New York where he enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years.

    David had worked at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree Resort in Lake Placid, and was owner and operator of Mountain Manor cabins in Keene.

    David was a hard-working individual and had many international acquaintances and close friends who were frequent visitors at the Mountain Manor. He enjoyed life in the High Peaks with his family that included black Labrador retriever Maya.

    David was a skier, played the games of golf, billiards, and was a master of the game Skittles. He also was an avid cook and grill master

    He is survived by his devoted wife Linda; his cherished daughter Lindsay; as well as five brothers and sisters: Linda Talbert and her husband Robert, Patricia Pfister and her husband Mark, Jeffery LaBarge and his wife Sandy, Thomas LaBarge and his wife Cathy and Robert LaBarge and his wife Shelly; and his many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.

    Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend the funeral service that will be held Saturday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at Keene Valley Congregational Church. Rev. Milton Dudley will officiate. Burial will follow at Norton Cemetery in Keene.
