ORO VALLEY, Ariz. — Patricia Ann Berlat, 61, of Tucson, Ariz., was granted her angel wings on Thursday March 3, 2011.

Patricia, fondly known as “Patsy,” was born in Lake Placid on Dec. 17, 1949. She was one of nine children born to Francis (Ryan) and Paul Strack.

She married William Berlat in 1975.

Patsy graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School in 1967 and from Our Lady of Victory Business School in 1968. She moved to Tucson and was employed by Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. for several years.

Pat traveled extensively with her husband to places like Africa, China, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Mexico, where she and her husband had a second home. She was a gourmet cook and will be missed by all who were the recipients of her fun-filled dinner parties.

Patricia was a beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother, sister and friend. She will be remembered by her gregarious nature, quick wit and contagious laugh. She will be sorely missed this day and every day.

Patricia is survived by her husband William; daughters: Kathryn Marchak and her husband Mike of San Jose, Calif. and Jessica Berlat of Mountain View, Calif.; adored granddaughter Alexis Ann Marchak; two step-daughters: Kim Berlat of Soccorro, N.M. and Eden Zaleski of Colorado Springs, Colo. and their families; her brothers: John Strack and his wife Marti of Plattsburgh, Jerry Strack and his wife Judi, of Lake Placid, Mike Strack and his wife Nancy of Lake Placid; four sisters: Nancy Latour of Charlotte, N.C., Carol Yorkey and husband Dick of Lake Placid, Mary Beslow and her husband Pete of San Diego, Calif., and Karen Conelly and her husband Fred, of Tucson; and a sister-in-law Betty Strack of Lake Placid.

She was predeceased by a brother, Jim Strack of Lake Placid, and a brother-in-law Pat Latour of Schenectady.

A memorial Mass was held Thursday, March 10 at Santa Catalina Catholic Parish in Oro Valley, Ariz., followed by a reception to celebrate her life at Reflections at The Buttes.
