BURLINGTON, Vt. — James Robert Lopez, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Jim was born April 15, 1946. He attended grade school in Westport and graduated from Lake Placid High School. After attending LeMoyne College in Syracuse, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. Following an honorable medical discharge he resided in Burlington, Vt.
Jim is survived by his mother, Marjorie Lopez; five brothers: Stephen, Thomas, Daniel, Anthony and Matthew; seven sisters: Maureen, Janet, Martha, Teresa, Susan, Lorraine and Kathryn; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert Lopez, and a sister, Kristin Lopez.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Lakeview House and the VNA Respite House for all of their special care and kindness.
Family and friends were invited to a service for Jim at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 18 at Christ the King Church on Locust Street in Burlington Vt. A private burial service will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Westport at the convenience of the family.
