PLATTSBURGH - The Lake Placid boys basketball team won its first playoff game in more than a decade Tuesday, Feb. 21 with a 49-46 victory over Northern Adirondack in the Section VII, Class C quarterfinals.
With the win, the Blue Bombers advanced to the semifinals where they will meet top-seeded Ticonderoga at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Willsboro Central School. Seton Catholic will play Moriah in the other semifinal at 6 p.m. in the same gym.
Northern Adirondack had a chance to tie the game with time running out in the fourth quarter, but Jacob Daniels got a hand on the attempt to secure the victory for Lake Placid.

Logan Stephenson paced the Blue Bombers with 21 points, while Daniels contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Lake Placid took a 10-5 lead after the first quarter and led 27-21 by halftime. Northern Adirondack battled back in the third, setting the stage for the exciting finish.
The Blue Bombers limited NAC's leading scorer Colby Sayah to just 10 points. Daniel Burger lead the Bobcats with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Corey LaBounty scored 14 points.
Lake Placid improved to 9-8 with the win, while Northern Adirondack fell to 1-17.
The quarterfinal game was played at Seton Catholic Central School.
