LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid boys soccer team built a two-goal lead and held off a late surge to secure a 2-1 victory over Seton Catholic on Monday, Sept. 17.
Shane McNierney put the Blue Bombers on the board in the 24th minute with an assist by Andrew Meister. Lake Placid extended the lead early in the second half when Nzoni Thompson broke through with an unassisted goal.

Noah Osbourne connected in the 65th minute for the Knights, but it wasn't enough as Lake Placid secured its second win of the season.
Chris Kordziel made 10 saves in goal for the Blue Bombers, who improved to 2-2 on the season. Keegan Briggs stopped 15 shots for Seton Catholic (1-1).
Lake Placid outshot the Knights 22-16.

LAKE PLACID - The Plattsburgh volleyball team kept its unbeaten record intact with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference victory over Lake Placid on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Taylor Witkiewicz had 13 points and six aces to lead the way for the Hornets, who improved to 4-0. Kayla Boise, Rachael Bedard and Kadijah Brown combined for 18 points, three aces, seven kills, one assist and four digs.
Lindsey Howe had six points, three aces and three digs and Emma Roach chipped in six points, one ace and one kill for the Blue Bombers.
Lake Placid is 0-5.
