LAKE PLACID - Lake Placid freshman Noah Mohr delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning April 22 as the Blue Bombers walked off with a stunning 12-11 victory over Plattsburgh.
The Blue Bombers went into the bottom of the final inning trailing 11-8 with the top of the lineup due to bat. Shane McNierney started the rally with a base hit, followed by eighth-grader Kamm Cassidy reaching first on an infield hit. Ryan Meyer then drilled a shot to the fence to score a run and Ryan Damp brought in another with a sacrifice fly.
With his team trailing by just one run, Alex Brandes stepped to the plate and slapped a single that brought in the tying run. Mohr then finished the game with a single that brought in RJ Reid.

Lake Placid started the game slowly on offense, going scoreless through the first three inning as Plattsburgh built a 7-0 lead. The Blue Bombers started hitting in the fourth, collecting eight runs over the next two innings to tie the game at 8-8.
Plattsburgh responded with two runs in the top of the sixth and another in the seventh to regain the advantage.
Reid and Brandes each had three hits in the game. Reid was also credited with the victory on the mound.
McNierney, Cassidy, Meyer, Damp, Mohr, and Connor Preston each had two hits and an RBI for Lake Placid. Eddie Kane had two hits and three RBI.
The Blue Bombers outhit Plattsburgh 16-11.
Garrett Frady, Robby Knowles and Gerrit Rietsma had two hits apiece for the Hornets.
Lake Placid is 2-1 overall on the season.
Lake Placid 11, AuSable Valley 3
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid baseball team dug its way out of an early three-run deficit Thursday, April 18 to capture an 11-3 victory over AuSable Valley.
The Patriots scored two runs in the second inning and added another in the third to jump out to a 3-0 advantage. The Blue Bombers responded with two runs in the bottom of the third, four in the fourth and five in the fifth inning.
Ryan Damp collected three RBI and scored two runs during the Blue Bombers' surge. Alex Brandes doubled and had two RBI and Connor Preston also had two RBI for Lake Placid.
The Blue Bombers' pitching staff of RJ Reid, Chris Williams and Ryan Meyer combined for 14 strikeouts and limited the Patriots to seven hits. Reid was credited with the win on the mound after striking out nine over five innings of work. Williams struck out two in the sixth inning and Meyer closed the game with three strikeouts in the seventh.
Kodie Simpson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Connor Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a single and a double to pace AuSable Valley.
