Dean P. ‘Chip’ Wikoff Jr.

Dean Preston "Chip" Wikoff Jr., 59, died of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles, Calif. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.

The son of Dean Preston and Marion "Mimi" Ferens Wikoff, longtime managers of the Mirror Lake Inn, and grandson of Climena Alford Wikoff founder and owner of the Inn, Chip was born on March 11, 1954, attended Lake Placid High School, and took accounting at Adelphia College, and computer programming at the Computer Center of Los Angeles.

Chip is survived by his former wife Jane Hannah Hoyt, formerly of Paul Smiths, his brothers: Thomas and William "Bill" Wikoff; his sister Kristina Edstrom, one niece and three nephews, all of Breadenton, Fla., along with several firsts cousins.

A family remembrance will be held for Chip in Los Angeles, with arrangements being made by his cousin Gerret Wikoff of Los Angeles who will be spreading Chip's ashes from an outlook on a mountain trail in Los Angeles's picturesque Griffith Park, in remembrance of his youth and being raised in the Adirondacks.
