The Blue Bombers were able to hold on late in the third for their first-ever girls hockey win over Beekmantown.

"They've always been a strong team, but we knew that we would have a chance if we played as a team and everyone played their best," said Lake Placid coach Sandy Huber. "I'm really proud of our girls for stepping up and showing what they can do if they play together. "

The Eagles outshot Lake Placid 29-12, but the Bombers were anchored in goal by Tanner Stanton, who turned away 27 shots. Kayleigh Bell made nine saves for Beekmantown.

Lake Placid improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in league games with the victory. Beekmantown is 2-1 overall and 0-1 in league matchups.
