To the editor,
Thank you to all the organizations and participants who made this year's July 4th festivities such a resounding success. What appeared to be a record crowd filled Main Street for our parade this year and most stayed on to watch Set the Night to Music, another amazing and spectacular show.
The spectators at the parade were treated to a great event with some new units and of course our regular and popular annual participants with floats and marching units. Thank you for maintaining the patriotic spirit of what Independence Day really means, and thanks to one and all for participating!
Thanks to our sponsors: Price Chopper, Casella Waste Management, Courtyard by Marriott, Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, Lake Placid Horse Shows, ORDA, Whiteface Lodge, Stewarts Shops, Briggs Northrup Attorneys, Northwoods Inn, Pan Dolce Restaurant, Balanced Bodywork & Massage, McDonalds, Dragon Benware CPA, Lake Placid Boat Rentals, High Peaks Dental, Hyde Fuel, Lake Placid Family Dental. We couldn't do it without you. Your generous contributions are key to the event's success.
Also many thanks to the organizations and individuals who contributed time and energy to help make our Independence Day celebration so successful: Lake Placid Fire Department, Lake Placid Police Department, Jim Morganson, Denny Allen, Glen Cameron, Glen Stacey, Denise Bujold, The Lussi family, Young Explosives, WSLP-FM - Jim Williams and Paul Varga, Jerry Strack, Eric Granger, village of Lake Placid, town of North Elba. And a special thanks to 8-year-old Brianna Collichio, of Rochester, who wowed the crowd with her a cappella National Anthem! All of your efforts were truly appreciated.
