To the editor:
The Lake Placid Community Beautification Association would like to express our gratitude for all the support we received this year from the entire community, merchants and individuals. We realize it has not been easy, yet you have supported us financially and with constant praise.
We have had a spectacular year with raves from visitors and locals.
Our director Cherise (Bailey) Bixler has done an excellent job. Her staff - Paula Politi, Stephany Quinn, Kyle Tisdale, Mackenzie Cottor and Mark Bowen - did a great job producing a beautiful community for our visitors and residents. Our sincere thanks to you all.
Butch Martin and his town crew are responsible for placing over 150 trees throughout the community. The Garden Club of Lake Placid and the Beautification Association produced and placed over 100 swags around the community. Thanks to all of the volunteers and to Roberta Decker for making all of the bows and many swags.
We are a unique organization and would cease to exist without the constant support from the town of North Elba and the village of Lake Placid. Mayor Craig Randall and the village board, Supervisor Roby Politi and the town board, Butch Martin and the North Elba Park District crew, Pete Kroha and the electric department, Brad Hathaway and the water and highway departments, and Larry Straight and the town highway department. The clerical staffs of all the town and village departments are an invaluable support team. I speak with them constantly. They are the backbones of the above organizations. Our sincere thanks to you all. The entire community should say "thank you" every time they see you. May you all be blessed with a safe and healthy 2017.
