Lake Placid News

LAKE PLACID - The summer skating series continues tonight in the 1932 Rink Jack Shea Arena with the Saturday Night Ice Show at the Olympic Center.

The ice dance team of Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue headline the skating show. Hubbell and Donohue, who train in Montreal, Quebec, began skating together in 2011 and have been a part of the United States' national team since 2012.

Two season ago, the pair skated to the 2016 U.S. ice dance championship bronze medal, and in 2014 they claimed the ISU Four Continents ice dance championship title.

Headliners for the remainder of the summer include 2014 CS Ice Challenge champion Douglas Razzano and U.S. men's champion and world competitor Ryan Bradley.

This summer marks the 85th annual summer skating program. The skaters will perform their individual and group numbers during the event. Admission to the show is $10 for adults, $8 for juniors and seniors. Children 6 and under may enter for free.

Friday night's ever-popular Freaky Friday show also featured skaters from the summer skating program who created their own unique routines for the event. The skaters abandoned their regular routines in favor of creativity, humor and amusement. The routines were judged on entertainment value.
