Thanks to our philanthropic heroes

To the editor:

The Tri-Lakes region is lucky to have so many dedicated, generous people who give their time, talent and treasure to lift up their community.

For our 20th anniversary, Adirondack Foundation asked our board, Advisory Council, Next Generation Council, special friends and nonprofit partners to select a person from their community who exemplifies the spirit of generosity - a local philanthropic hero. These volunteers, donors and community advocates go above and beyond to answer the call: Donna Beal, Dick Beamish, Bill Billerman, Tom Both, Gail Brill, Adele Connors, Milt Dudley, Dorothy Federman, Dmitry Feld, Sam Fisk, Reg and Joan Gignoux, Ron Hall, Keene Central School, Lee Keet, Rebecca Kelly and Craig Brashear, Melinda Little, Dan and Carol Luthringshauser, Vinny McClelland, Jim McKenna, Ed McNeil, Annette Merle-Smith, Karen Peters, Eleanor Poppe, Meredith Prime, Kathy Schneck, Nancy Sweet, Mary Thill, Jay Ward, Ross Whaley, Jeff and Kathy Wiegand, Jecinda and Josh Wilson, Dave Wolff, and Bob Worth.

We also give special recognition to those heroes who impact continues long after they have left us: Obie Clifford, Robin Pell, and Roger and Kay Sullivan.

We appreciate all the heroes who contribute daily to making the Tri-Lakes community a better place. With the holidays in mind, we're thankful for everything you do.
