Town has 4 public hearings Nov. 12

LAKE PLACID - The North Elba Town Board has set four public hearings for Tuesday, Nov. 12 related to the town's preliminary 2020 budget, according to Town Clerk Laurie Dudley.

The first will start at 6:30 p.m. at the North Elba Town Hall. Residents will have the opportunity to weigh in on the town's contracts with the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.

The second hearing will begin at 6:40 p.m., and that's regarding the town's franchise agreement with Time Warner Cable Northeast LLC (Spectrum).

The third hearing, on the proposed budget for the Ray Brook water/sewer district, will start at 6:45 p.m.

The final public hearing, regarding the town's preliminary budget for 2020, is set for 6:50 p.m., just before the start of the board's regular meeting at 7 p.m. The preliminary budget was still being assembled on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and a copy was not available by press time. Copies of the preliminary budget are expected to be available for viewing at the North Elba Town Hall ahead of the hearing, according to Dudley.
