Incumbents win big on Election Day

LAKE PLACID — Here is the roundup of unofficial results from Election Day — Tuesday, Nov. 8 — for the Olympic Region, as of press time on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The Olympic Region is defined by the Lake Placid News as the towns of North Elba, Jay, Keene and Wilmington.

Two seats were filled by unopposed incumbents in countywide races, according to the Essex County Board of Elections: treasurer, Michael Diskin; and sheriff, David Reynolds.

In the town of Keene, Reginald Whitney was elected to highway superintendent, running unopposed.

In the town of North Elba, Alec Friedmann was elected to town justice, running unopposed.

Results from the Wilmington town justice race — write-in only — were not yet available.
