McGraw Project gives free concert at LPCA Friday
LAKE PLACICD — Out of Lake Placid, jam outfit The McGraw Project is playing one final summer show with free admission at Lake Placid Center for the Arts this Friday, Aug. 16 at 8:45 p.m.
Lead guitarist David McGraw, who played with Rusty Hlavacek in local late-1970’s acoustic duo Late for Supper, has reinvisioned the band to include new members and a catalog of new and original music, in addition to classics by our favorites from San Francisco, California and Macon, Georgia.
The McGraw Project has remained committed to reviving live music in town, now having played over a dozen shows in Lake Placid, including at Big Z’s Lake Placid Lanes, as well as packed holiday performances at Smoke Signals in 2023 and Christening the new Mount Van Hoevenberg Mountain Pass Lodge with music in late December 2022 to benefit the New York Ski Educational Foundation. This will be the second free concert at LPCA, after last year’s show. This Friday’s concert will cap off two years of steady performances, in this town that they love so much.
The line-up will feature, in the rhythm section, drummer Teddy McGraw and percussionist Bill Bentz. Local favorite Joe Scrimenti will take up the bass once again, and opposite David on guitar is Mr. Hlavacek, with additional vocals provided by Caroline Hlavacek.
Doors open at 8:15 p.m.
