All living artists over 18 are eligible. Accepted work must be hand delivered and picked up. Complete information can be found on the Guild’s website, adirondackartistsguild.com.

Cash prizes will be announced at 6 p.m. on March 14. During the exhibit, people can vote for their favorite piece, and at the end of the show a People’s Choice award, donated by a local friend of the arts, will be announced.

This year the juror will be Betsy Krebs. She is an award-winning painter who has been an art teacher and who has shown her work widely. Recently she opened a gallery and studio, Birds of a Feather, in Chestertown.

Krebs writes, “As I paint I take an unknown “gnostic” path that becomes my voice, a language unknown to me until I come to the journey’s end. I tell stories, I replay the past through the eyes of curiosity. The past is only moments away as I form my images. My “visual” voice becomes a world of color, depth, light, symbolism when aligned that can transform the heart through the eyes.

“Color and light, the common denominator, is a reference point for me. A simple palette of basic color and the challenge of matching colors on location have helped me create mood and feeling in my images. Working outside is the best teacher for me. It is a new ethic and approach to “seeing” and has helped me in the studio.”

The Adirondack Artists Guild is a cooperative retail art gallery representing a diverse group of artists residing and working in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Park.
