Communities invited to climate strategy sessions

PAUL SMITHS — Paul Smith’s College, in partnership with The Wild Center, Adirondack Research Consortium, and community partners is continuing efforts to hold community listening sessions to address the growing impacts of climate change in the Adirondack-North Country region.

As the region experiences warmer temperatures, heavier rainfall and more unpredictable weather patterns, these changes increasingly affect roads, homes, businesses, jobs, safety networks and the overall quality of life.

The Adirondack Climate Outreach & Resilience Network aims to bring together community members, organizations and local leaders to collaboratively identify solutions that will help the region be proactive in adapting to these changing conditions. The network spans the 14-county region of northern New York.

By participating in these listening sessions, the public will have the opportunity to share their experiences, concerns and ideas for building a more resilient future. The information collected will be used to develop a Rural Resilience Roadmap and shared with Federal and State agencies and philanthropic organizations to help bring funding resources and technical assistance to the North Country.

Multiple listening sessions are scheduled:
