Born on Nov. 27, 1954, in Schenectady, he was the son of Harriet Miller and Paul Gallo Sr. Steve attended Lake Placid Central Schools and completed 11th grade before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19, serving his country in the Vietnam War.

Calling Hours were held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid with the American Legion Post 326 Lake Placid prayer service held at 7 p.m., followed by a prayer service officiated by the Rev. Derek H. Hanson, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church.

Burial will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice.
