Mrs. Bath was born July 21, 1939, in Riverhead, New York, the daughter of the late Algernon B. Jayne and Ruth Tuthill Jayne. She was the fifth of six children; four of whom have predeceased her.

She was married to her husband of 38 years, Dale Bath, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2021. She and Dale worked for many years as the sextons of Adirondack Community Church. She was happiest when reading a good mystery, tending to the flowers in her garden, and writing her own books.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin (Chris) Laybourne of Purcellville, Virginia and Debra Bombard of AuSable Forks; stepson Mark (Lisa) Bath of Lady Lake, Florida; stepdaughter Laurie Bath of Lake Placid; grandchildren Erica, Marcus and James; great-grandchild Ayden; and sister Susanne Ketner of Middletown, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid, followed by a funeral service at the church and burial at the North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid. The Rev. Derek Hansen will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Adirondack Community Church, Alzheimer’s Association or the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
