Barbara Harding Lamb

Barbara Harding Lamb was born in New Jersey on May 12, 1927, to Ernest A. Harding and Helen Josten Harding.

She was preceded in death (1983) by her husband, Richard Gordon Lamb, and is survived by her four children, from oldest to youngest, Duncan Bruce Lamb, Sandra Lamb Leong, Jennifer Lamb Tynan and Barry Gordon Lamb; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Barbara earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College in 1948. She met Richard while he was attending Princeton University. Barbara worked for a while in a clerical position in an office at Princeton University. In her later years, she volunteered at both the Uihlein Mercy Center in arts and crafts and a knit shop in Lake Placid, New York.

She lived in a variety of places during her adult years, but primarily in Princeton, New Jersey, followed by Lake Placid; Naples, Florida; and lastly Ocala, Florida. Her daughter Jennifer and her three children (Jim, John, and Amanda) lived across the street from her in Lake Placid. Barbara lived near her son Barry and daughter Jennifer in Naples and eventually moved to Ocala with Jennifer.

Barbara, also fondly known as “Bunny,” was a loving wife, mother, and avid knitter. She sang in the Adirondack Singers and the choirs at the Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton and Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid.

Barbara will especially be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor, devotion, commitment, grit and love. She will be greatly missed.

A private family graveside memorial event will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Elizabethtown, New York on Sunday, Oct. 13. Her ashes will be buried in a plot shared with her deceased husband.
