Michael George Preston
Michael George Preston, 65, of Tree Top Lane, Lake Placid, NY passed away peacefully at his home March 29, 2025. He was born June 30, 1959 in Lake Placid, NY the son of George “Bubbie” and Catherine Mae (Barber) Preston. He spent his days working for Olympic Athletes at the U. S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY for several years and Mike also worked at the Olympic Bobrun and the Olympic Ski Jumps.
Mike loved following sports of all kinds. He was a fan of all the New York sports teams and especially fond of baseball and the New York Yankees.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Jessica Preston of Lake Placid; two sisters, Patricia Preston of Lake Placid, and Betty Jo Fortune and her husband George of Lake Placid; two brothers, David Preston of Lake Placid and Jason Preston of Lake Placid; four grandchildren, Julius Preston, Suay Lamott, Ashton Nolan and Reagan Lamott all of Lake Placid. Mike is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Gabriella Lamott and Katalina Lamott as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents George and Catherine and one brother Ralph Preston.
There are no services schooled at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
