Teddy Bear Picnic thanks

To the editor:

I would like to express our extreme gratitude to all those who helped to make the return of the Teddy Bear Picnic a great success. We were able to provide local children with opportunities to have their face painted by Keela Grimmette, Balloon Animals from Loonworks Family Entertainment, books from both LPEA and Lake Placid Public Library, bracelet making from the Girl Scouts, bracelets and pinwheels from St. Agnes School, creating their own stuffed animals from Critters Hot Spot, checking out Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department’s fire truck and the opportunity to take a new friend from our donated stuffies. Any stuffies left over were then donated to the North Elba Christmas fund to help jump start their annual toy drive.

Children were also able to enjoy popcorn from the Palace Theatre and ice cream from Stewart’s. Starbucks also provided lemonade for the children, coffee and a coffee raffle for the adult attendees. Additional thanks goes out to Boy Scouts Troop 10 for helping to lead the annual parade with Aggie Bear and Lake Placid Police Department for being there for support. Middle/High School Interact and St. Agnes School look forward to continuing on the tradition for many years to come!
