What a Joy at this year’s celebration
Dear Editor,
On behalf of the board and staff of the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, we would like to thank our entire community for an unforgettable Joy to the Children celebration. It would be impossible to adequately express our gratitude to the Weibrecht family for hosting this event and for being a steadfast partner over many decades. This year’s event saw more than 500 tickets sold, a sparkling holiday setting, and true joy at the opportunity to gather together in person to celebrate the season and a cause that is important to us all.
Thanks to the Weibrechts’ generosity and all of our supporters, we are able to continue offering free afterschool workshops, the School Day Matinee performance series, the free Young and Fun summer series and so much more. The impact on our region is considerable – these programs reach 15,000 students from 5 counties annually and provide foundational arts education experiences for students that aren’t available elsewhere.
We are extraordinarily lucky to be part of a community that values the arts and furthers our mission to pass along a love of creating and experiencing the arts to the children across the Adirondack region. We thank everyone who helped to make this year’s event a tremendous success, including those that purchased tickets at a benefactor level and our amazing local businesses who contributed to our silent auction (the list of auction donors can be found here: https://bit.ly/joy-donors-2024).
Best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season.
